The Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) is the largest network of wildlife sanctuaries across Africa. The Alliance aims at securing a future for Africa’s primates, their habitats by rescuing, caring for orphaned apes and monkeys, protecting endangered primates from extinction, working to stop the hunting of endangered species and the illicit pet trade, educating the public and empowering communities. The wildlife centers collectively employ nearly 500 staff, and care for more than 2,800 great apes, monkeys, and other primates. They contribute more than US$5,000,000 into local African economies each year.

PASA unifies its member wildlife centers and advocates on their behalf at the international level, provides vital support, and works with them to raise awareness globally about wildlife conservation issues. PASA builds the capacity of its members by providing workshops and other training, guidance, and networking opportunities.
