We made it! Our Chimp Champions.

Thanks you to all of our amazing supporters who participated in Great Apes Giving Day 2016.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary raised $25,585 from 121 donors! And as a result, we will be awarded cash prizes for most dollars raised by small organizations, most unique number of donors and a golden ticket.

We are thankful to you for your love and support through spreading the word, shares on various medias and forwarding our emails to your family and friends that enabled us to achieve our target of $25,000. It’s because of you that we shall continue to provide for the chimpanzees that are in our care.

A big thank you to Arcus Foundation and GFAS who made the Great Apes Giving Day a success for all the 34 participating projects. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

The process of integrating the hand raised baby chimpanzee at Ngamba Island with his mother and other chimpanzees is progressing well, with him spending time with Afrika, his mother and five other chimps in the out side enclosure.

In other news, Chimpanzee Trust is initiating a Payment for Ecosystem Watershed project  in and around Bugoma forest in an effort to protect the habitats of the remaining 5,000 wild chimpanzees in Uganda.
