Welcome! There are currently 52 chimpanzees living at the Ngamba Island sanctuary, ranging in age from 4months to 36 years old. Did you know that chimps in captivity can live up to 60 years! They are intelligent, highly social animals with individual personalities just like humans. Here we introduce you to each one but if you really want to get to know these amazing animals, come visit us and ‘meet’ them in person!
Want to foster your favorite and get a tax-deductible? Our U.S. based non-profit partners, Friends of Chimps (FOC) and Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) offer an Adopt a Chimp program on their website where for $50USD per year you can foster any one of the 52 chimps. You will receive a digital adoption kit and your donation will help support the food and care of all the chimps at Ngamba. Click here to adopt through FOC and through PASA to be redirected to their website to process your ‘adoption’. You can as well adopt directly through our online system through PESAPAL by emailing info@ngambaisland.org
Many pant hoots from us for your support!
