Billi

Female

My name is Billi and I bet you’ve never heard of me simply because I’m one of the good girls at Ngamba Island. I don’t cause commotion or get in any fights. I am a true lady.

Humility is my key to living, that’s why in 2003 I adopted Afrika, my sweet baby girl. She was brought in at 5 years old from captivity and I couldn’t help but make her my own.

My Story

Billi (The good girls of Ngamba Island)

She’s a quiet girl too. She takes up from her mother. But last year on March 27th she gave birth to a sweet little boy who is my grandson.

I must say I was a bit skeptical when she told me she was pregnant because she’s still a baby herself. But I had to accept the gift of life, the gift of being a grandmother to another Chimpanzee— that alone overtook the skeptism and I should say it is the most outstanding thing that has ever happened in my life.

…and now that I am a grandmother, expect me to be on my best behavior because Survivor is watching.

When are you visiting Ngamba Island? I really want you to meet my grandson.
