We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team and drive the tourism and marketing efforts forward.
Position Summary
The Manager – Tourism and Marketing is a strategic role responsible for driving tourism growth, leading marketing initiatives, and promoting conservation awareness. The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving the Chimpanzee Trust’s mission and strategic objectives through innovative product development and effective stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the annual marketing, sales, and communications strategy to expand market share and achieve revenue targets.
- Product Development: Design, develop, and diversify tourism products that meet evolving market demands and generate sustainable income for the Trust.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, track industry trends, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Partnership & Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders within the local and international tourism sectors.
- Marketing & Communications: Oversee the creation and distribution of all promotional materials, manage public relations, and serve as a key spokesperson for the Trust.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team and associated business units to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Performance & Reporting: Prepare and analyze sales and marketing data, monitor business performance against key metrics, and provide regular reports to the Executive Director, identifying areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A Master’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Tourism & Hospitality, or a related field from a reputable university.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a senior marketing or business development role, with a proven track record in the tourism and hospitality sector.
- A professional marketing qualification (e.g. CIM) is highly desirable.
