My name is Kalema and I arrived at Ngamba in 1999.

I am a heavily built muscular chimpanzee with a uniformly dark face and a prominent ridge. I was named after Dr Gladys Kalema the 1^st female wildlife veterinarian in Uganda Wildlife Authority, who confiscated me from the captor in the Budongo area.
