Meet Chimp Maisko

Maisko is an adult male chimp that is estimated to be born in 1984, originated from DRC.He was confiscated from Entebbe Airport and arrived at Ngamba in October 1998.He can be recognized by his very dark face, piercing amber eyes and thick curly black hair.

He is one of the highest ranking individuals in the community and he commands a relatively good level of respect. He has not fallen sick over the last few months except when he experienced some cold and flu at the start of October. Maisko’s rank has not changed over the past six months.

Maisko gets terrified when left alone in the holding facility for reasons. He likes causing chaos in the community especially when they are in the forest and late in the evening after returning to the holding facility. He like challenging Mawa and whenever they meet he incites a fight as he solicits for support from the other chimps to beat up Mawa. When he is unhappy he raspberries and often times displays at the same time.
